A chin implant, also known as chin augmentation or mentoplasty, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that enhances the shape, size, or projection of the chin using a synthetic implant. It’s commonly performed to improve facial harmony, jawline definition, or correct a weak/receding chin.

How the Procedure Works

• Typically done under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia
• A small incision is made:
  • Under the chin (submental approach), or
  • Inside the mouth (intraoral approach)
• A custom-shaped silicone or porous implant is placed over the chin bone
• The incision is closed, and the chin is bandaged
